Belgians and Dutch cutting up rough with Red Diesel

The RYA are reporting that the Belgians and Dutch are going to penalise UK yachtsmen for having red diesel in their tanks. There appear to be two elements to the problem with some apparent confusion between different EU Directorates, one being the continued use of marked diesel and the other whether or not Member States are allowed to penalise individuals for having red diesel in their tanks. You can read more about this in the linked document from the RYA. Suffice to say that one local club (BQYC) has already abandoned plans to visit Belgium/Netherlands this season because of the ongoing dispute, and the likelihood of one or more boats being penalised.
