Fisherman's Gat Update - October 2011

The London Array developers have announced that they are now starting to lay the power cables linking the wind farm with the on-shore substation on Sheppey, across the mouth of Fisherman's Gat. Although yachts still
have a legal right of passage Trinity House has removed the mark buoys to discourage non-construction traffic using the channel.

Exclusion Zone around the Bradwell Power Station Baffle

The River Bailiff has issued a Notice to Mariners about 150m exclusion zone around the Baffle wall from 4th October until February whilst works are going on. The exclusion zone is not marked by buoys. The practical effect of a 150m zone around the baffle wall is that there is probably no room for a yacht to go inshore of it and there will be precious little room to go much east of a line due north of North Cardinal – some but not a lot.
