Training Headlines

Students hard at workThe new RYA Basic Safety and Navigation Course is going down well with our first batch of students. The photograph shows us all hard at work on the first day of the course, held on the 9th February.

We hope to run a VHF SRC Radio course soon. We already have two students 'signed up' but need a minimum of six to enable the course to proceed. Let Ron Fry know please if you are interested.

We have also been asked to run an intensive Day Skipper shore based course. No dates yet but it's likely to be in the Autumn and will probably be over four or five Saturdays

The training centre is run for the benefit of club members and we are always interested in comments about possible future courses. There has been some discussion recently about possible Yacht Master shore based training, but to date, there hasn’t been sufficient positive interest to enable us to organise courses.

Diesel engine and Sea Survival courses are also available if there is sufficient interest. The dates for Sea Survival are restricted to the availability of the heated pool!! so the available dates are from May to late September.

For more information on any aspect of RYA Training please contact Ron Fry.
