Re: LOCAL CRUISE & RACE Sat 17 & Sun 18 October

Don't worry everyone, it will be perfect weather for the simple reason, I cannot now go. I have been given the 17th. at short notice, for a carpal tunnel procedure at Braintree Hospital. As I have been waiting a long time I could hardly refuse. I shall be thinking of you.

Re: LOCAL CRUISE & RACE Sat 17 & Sun 18 October

We have been to Levington today (by road) and noticed The Harwich foot ferry already ashore outside their workshop being worked on. Let's hope they get it back in operation quickly.
We are also hoping the weather improves for the 17th./18th. We are fast running out of sailing season!

Re: LOCAL CRUISE & RACE Sat 3rd & Sun 4th October

Met. Office are forecasting Southerly 16 knts. gusting 24 knts with 80% chance of rain for Saturday and SSW. on the nose, gusts of 32 knts. with a 50% chance of rain for Sunday. Polo will definitely not be venturing up to The Orwell next weekend. We will decide whether to do something local on Frida...

Re: LOCAL CRUISE & RACE Sat 3rd & Sun 4th October

We would like to sail both weekends, covid and weather permitting. My suggestion would be a cruise to Shotley on the 3rd. incorporating The Steve Rix passage race for those that wish to take part. If the weather is unsuitable for a longer trip we could keep it local and head towards Brightlingsea or ...

Re: Kings Head Cup Saturday 19/9/20

Due to the new government rules regarding meetings of more than 6 people the club is now unable to make a group booking for The Green Man after the race. Should you still wish to eat out, presumably, there is nothing to prevent individuals from booking meals independently.

Re: Late Summer Cruise (August Bank Holiday Weekend)

Currently the weather is forecast to be another typical August Bank Holiday weekend. Saturday looks too much like hard work for me with generally Northerly winds gusting to 33 knts. (Met.Office). Neap tides also makes Saturday a non-starter for Polo. Friday is a repeat with less wind but rain added ...
