Reflections on 2016

Post by davidprentis » November 28th, 2016, 10:50 pm

Well, that was fun!

We ended up with a very well attended Christmas Cruise - a gentle breeze on Saturday morning and a sunny afternoon for the traditional sea food lunch on the pontoon.

Despite losing one or two weekends to the weather, we managed to run 20 on-the-water events over the season (cruising and racing). A total of 19 boats took part in one or more events. The three most popular events were:

Christmas Cruise - 9
Pursuit Race to the Orwell - 9
Brightlingsea and Buxey Ashes - 7

We had 4 boats taking part in 10 or more events: Polo 4; Amelia; Starfire; Wave Dancer

Thanks to everyone who took part.

Your committee is currently putting the finishing touches to the 2017 programme - so have a great Christmas and happy sailing in 2017!

Thank you David and the TCC committee for all the hard work organising the 2016 season. We thoroughly enjoyed both the cruises and races and are already looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for next year.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
Jean & Rob.
