Re: Midsummer Cruise 22 June
Hi All.
The plans are pretty loose regarding The Roach and eating ashore at North Fambridge because I am still trying to get up to date information on problems with moorings and landing at Pagglesham, also whether The Ferryboat Inn at Fambridge is currently open for business.
What I can say, however, is that we shall be leaving Tollesbury on the p.m. tide (16.11) bound for Brightlingsea. Sunday we will take the last of the ebb at about 07.30. heading for Burnham. Probably on Tuesday early afternoon take the tide up to North Fambridge and Westwick marina. Depending on the situation at Paglesham return either to The Roach or Burnham on Thursday. Friday leaving about mid-day for West Mersea/Brightlingsea or Bradwell?
Anyone wishing to join us please sign up on this forum or contact me on mob. 07535242115.
Regards
Robin Kemp. Polo IV.

Hi Rob
I intend to join you in Brightlingsea Saturday and then either go back to Tollesbury Sunday or to Burnham and head back on Monday morning if I can get the day off work. Just me if we intend eating out Saturday.

Hi All.
Just the three boats for Brightlingsea and Burnham and berths have been booked at both destinations. Anyone wishing to join in at the last minute will be most welcome as I'm sure there will be space.
Following on from my previous posting, The Ferry Boat Inn at Fambridge is currently closed for extensive refurbishment and will not reopen until September but there is a small cafe/bar at the marina that does food in the evenings, or we can eat on board?
See you Saturday.
Rob.

Re: Midsummer Cruise 22 June
Hi all
Great time at winkies although not much room for Anne's gorgeous cake on Challenge 2 afterwards (pint of bitter might also have something to do with it). I think it might be worth breaking out my tender if staying more than one night as the promised free Ferry rides during summer months never materialised. Very expensive and reflected in how busy it is, or isn't, these days.

Re: Midsummer Cruise 22 June
After a brief visit to Brightlingsea and a visit to Winkies with the rest of the “Weekend” fleet, Challenge II and Polo set off on Sunday to the Crouch arriving late afternoon after an uneventful passage which concluded with a goose wing run from the Inner Whitaker to the Marina
Monday was a rest day and we spent a nice afternoon walking around Burnham an a pleasant lunch in in the White Harte followed by card playing session on Polo to round off the evening
On Tuesday we made our way up to North Fambridge on the rising tide, arriving at half tide, with no depth problems - new owners have spent time and money on keeping the channel and Marina well dredged
Having decided to cut the cruise short due to home commitments and weather forecasts we returned to Tollesbury on Wednesday making a start at a civilised start at 9am, arriving back at the leavings in time to have a cuppa before tying up at about 7 pm
Thanks to Rob for his research an organising and Jean for her company we enjoyed a brief but packed few days away adding a new destination to our cruising itinerary
