Fireworks at Brightlingsea- Saturday 10th November (HW1338 5.4)

Post by amelia2014 » October 27th, 2018, 9:31 am

Colne Yacht Club are hosting a Fireworks Display.
The programme is set out as:
Bar & BBQ from 6pm
Bonfire 7pm
Fireworks 7.30pm
These will be held on the hard outside the clubhouse at LW.
There is no fixed plan for a meal but options are the CYC BBQ food; the other shorefront eateries; eat on board - so please make your own arrangements for this.
I will book berths, so please let me know if you would like to be on the pontoon or Waterside.
Thanks,
Mandy

Hi Mandy.
We would like to take part. Our preference would be Waterside if you are able to arrange it. It was full last time we were at Brightlingsea ourselves. We will either eat on board or make our own arrangements at Winkies.

Hi Mandy

We'd like the Waterside if possible and I'll look into The Rosebud and report back if I can get a table

Wave Dancer is planning on coming to fireworks.
We would like to go for Waterside if there is space.

Hello All

Berthing:
I have spoken to the Brightlingsea Harbourmaster who informed me that no reserve bookings can be made for Waterside on 10 Nov, as they are in the process of dredging and the West Side is currently being dredged. They have no firm completion date. There are a lot of resident boats in the marina too, therefore, there may be only some or even no berths available.
The Harbourmaster said they would try to accommodate as many boats as possible in Waterside on a ‘first come first serve’ basis, but 5 berths would be unlikely.
I have asked for the pontoon to be reserved for the overflow or, maybe, all of the boats.
I have sent a list of boat names and details for Polo IV, Challenge II, Wave Dancer, Amalie and Caroline. Please call the harbourmaster before entering Brightlingsea, so that you can be advised on berthing allocation.

Meals:
As I said in the first post, there is no booking for meals, but there is the CYC bar and BBQ, Winkies or the shorefront eateries. Please make you own meal arrangements - some of you already have!
Sorry it’s not good news about Waterside :-(
Mandy x

Hi Mandy & All

Anyone know what the situation is with regard to the Water Taxi? This was the main reason for us thinking the Marina would be the best option as there have been issues early and late in the season before

Hi Bob.
Two weeks back the water taxi stopped at 18.00. I don't know if they are doing anything special for the firework w/e. As space is limited in the marina we plan on staying out on the visitors pontoon and leaving the marina for those boats needing power for heating. We are joining forces with Amalie and eating on board and will watch the fireworks from the pontoon.

Hi Mandy,

We're hoping to attend on Speedwell, weather permitting. We'll be eating on board and happy with a berth on the pontoon.
